Dear editor,
Death is not welcome at any time and especially at Christmas or other holidays.
After eight months of fighting cancer, my precious husband, Lawrence Rogers, was diagnosed with
pneumonia. After a three week battle, he wanted to change his address and was happy to declare his desire to be with Jesus for His Birthday and that’s where he went for Christmas.
We are all doing well drawing on the “Joy of the Lord” for our strength. I have truly experienced God’s word is true and, PTL, God has given me supernatural peace. We are also thankful that God gave us a gift of letting him tell us he was ready and that it was his desire to go; and 2 hours later, he did.
We all know that:
1) Everyone will die one day.
2) You die alone.
3) You have to leave your physical body to go to heaven.
4) Most people don’t want to go right now.
Well, Lawrence figured it out and was happy to make his earthly departure and go live with Jesus. He just set the example and went ahead of us. Our new family theme song is “When We All Get to Heaven.”
The Lawrence Rogers family, Ken Rogers family, Robert Pruitt family, and Don Parkerson family would like to express how blessed our community is to have Dodge County Hospital and its dedicated, caring staff to be there for the people of Dodge and surrounding counties ready to minister and serve this area.
We fell in love with Dr. Lou Barker, Dr. Habigaile Cribe and the ICU nursing staff who were so good to giving him excellent care during his last days.
We are happy to report, All is Well, Good is Good, and Jesus is LORD.
Wishing each of you a Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year.
Paula Rogers

Man is killed in truck accident
An Ashburn man was killed when the 18 wheeler he was driving ran off the roadway and overturned.
According to the Georgia State Patrol report, Kevin Lee McKinney, age 38, driving a 2001 International 9400 18 wheeler carrying a load of chipboard plywood, was driving west on Georgia 46 (Soperton Highway) and was approaching Pete Thomas Road. McKinney attempted to make a left turn onto Pete Thomas Road. As the truck began making the turn, it started yawing and ran off the west shoulder of Pete Thomas Road into the ditch.
The truck then struck a sign and reentered the roadway, but the trailer remained in the ditch. The truck then overturned.
A passenger in the truck, Amanda McKinney, age 38, was taken by helicopter to Navicent Health in Macon.
The accident happened on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at approximately 10:53 a.m.

Okay! Here we go once more! The Falcons blow another big lead to Tom Brady, but this time it’s not a bad thing. I will explain. The Bulldogs don’t get a regular finale but a New Year’s six bowl against Cincinnati. There are several reports that as many as five players, mostly defensive, back out. Ok, let’s get started.
Oh the Falcons! Things started out just fine as they grabbed a 17-0 lead at the half against Tampa Bay. Ryan had a pair of touchdowns. Then came the second half. The lead was 24-7 not 28-3 when Brody went to work. The 43 year old threw for 390 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the 31-27 come from behind win. Unlike the heart breaking super bowl loss, this one was possibly a franchise revamping game.
The loss now moves the Falcons to the number four spot in the draft next spring. There are two games left but only one seems to be a sticking point. This Sunday, the Birds go to Kansas City. This one still means something to the defending champs, so it should be safe. The finale against Tampa concerns me. IF the Bucs have anything to play for, things are fine but if they don’t, it’s winnable against Tampa Bay backups. A wins would hurt things, just ask the Jets.
If the Falcons get the fourth spot, who do you take? Do you take Justin Fields as your quarterback in 22? Matt Ryan will be back next year so he would have a year to learn. Do you take Florida’s great tight end Kyle Pitts? The options are limitless at the four spot. The Falcons need a pair of losses badly. I know the greatest fair of them all will be hoping for that so you can too.
The Bulldogs didn’t get a home finale as Vandy backed out for the second time. The Dogs once again get a New Year’s Eve six bowl against a hinging Cincinnati team in the Peach Bowl.
It will be a touch game as Cincy is good and the problem is, are the Bulldogs interested? Reports are senior captain Monty Rice and several others will not play. Starting corners Eric Stokes and Tepon Campbell also will sit out. Richard Le Counte is also expected not to play. Only Campbell is projected to go in the first two days of the draft.
This is a tough challenge for Coach Kirby Smart and staff. The Dogs had players before the loss to Texas two years ago and before the super bowl win over Baylor last year. This one may be tougher. The Bearcats are not a power five-conference team. Cincy is in the “group of five” conferences. This game is almost a no win sit down for the Dogs. Win and you should have won-lose and you are laughing stock losing to a group of five team! I hope Kirby can get his boys ready to play!

R.I.P. Charley Pride
R.I.P. Country music legend Charley Pride, age 82, of apparent COVID related illness.
I should’ve mentioned this in August: Cannon Hinnant R.I.P.
Wealthy liberal Democrats spent over $100 million in Montana’s U.S Senate election to stop Republican Steve Daines’ reelection in November. He won anyway. Big media will whine about Republicans spending big bucks to win but seldom say anything about heavy Demo spending. When Steve Daines won that seat six years ago he ended 100 years of Democrat control of it, an incredible one party string. Last week Senator Daines was helping campaign for the January 5th Georgia runoff.
“Democrats seem to always get the benefit of the doubt when they’re the target of foreign intelligence.”
Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-Florida)
on The Ingraham Angle 12-11-20
The same RINO losers who now tell Donald Trump to move on and forget the election fraud told him to drop out of the race when he was winning every primary early on in 2016. Just because these characters want to cut and run is no reason for the rest of us to give up to vote theft or it will continue unchecked.
“One can have a recount, but that will only recount the same bad ballots.”
Willis L. Krumholz on TheFederalist.com
“The United States Senate in Republican hands is the last line of defense against crippling legislation for Americans’ way of life.”
U.S. Senator-elect Cynthia Lummis (R–Wyoming)
She’s a great one. You’ll like this lady–guaranteed. She was in Georgia last week campaigning for the two Senators in runoffs. She has a proven track record already, just entering the Senate. Get this also – she’s an outspoken opponent of endless foreign adventurism. We need more Republicans like this. I was on her message site when she was in the House, kept me informed and I wasn’t even a constituent.

Commissioners approve purchase of ambulance
Dodge County Commissioners Jr. Howell, Terry Niblett, Brian Watkins and Dan McCranie unanimously approved the purchase of a new ambulance at their regular meeting on Monday, December 21, 2020.
County manager Conner Bearden presented bids from Custom Truck and Body Works, Emergency Tactical Rescue Vehicle and Emergency Vehicle Sales to the commissioners for consideration.
After Bearden and Emergency Medical Director Shannon Weston informed the board of maintenance issues with the current ambulance and also the travel involved in transporting patients during this growing pandemic period, commissioner approved the request.
Custom Truck and Body Works was the recommended company from Bearden and the lower bid of $137,474.00. Bearden informed commissioners that the funds for purchase were available through the 2013 Special Purpose Local Options Tax and that his goal was to have a fleet of ambulances available.
County attorney John Harrington informed commissioners of a Georgia Natural Resources grant that would involve the purchase of 1/2 acre to meet all the qualifications. Attorney Harrington stated this was only brought to his attention today and that it was time sensitive. Commissioner
Watkins made the motion, seconded by commissioner Howell to purchase the property and complete all the grant paperwork before the deadline of December 31, 2020.

Scary thought
It’s easy being a Communist in a free country. Try being free in a Communist country.
From Facebook.com: “The easily brainwashed idiots that believed the Russian collusion hoax want you to believe voter fraud doesn’t exist. ”
“Scary thought: Biden won’t be the worst part of a Biden presidency.”
Howie Carr on HowieCarr.com
True – Kamala is even worse and sleazy Joe is horrible.
“Biden is a puppet of the radical left.”
Donald Trump
NASCAR can prove it’s on the global warming crusade to ban gasoline cars – switch to all electric racecars!
If you think your taxes should be raised, always vote for Joe Biden. He figures he can spend it better than you. He bragged during the campaign that he was going to raise taxes. Biden tells his donors: “I’m going to get rid of the bulk of Trump’s $2 trillion tax cuts.” Biden is an annoying leftist who hangs around D.C., living off your tax dollars, enriching his Biden crime family in the process.
How many Democrats lasted longer than Kamala Harris in the 2020 primaries? A bunch of them. She got nowhere and quit the race without ever winning any primary. Pete Buttigieg stayed in the race longer than Harris.
Germany is considerably smaller than Texas and is slightly larger than New Mexico, the 5th largest U.S. state.

Lew Rockwell on LewRockwell.com
Dr. Kelli Ward should be an Arizona U.S. Senator today, far better than John McCain or Jeff Flake and lost primaries to both. Dr. Ron Paul endorsed her. She’s the Arizona state party chair now.

Seven indicted in dogfighting
Seven men have been indicted on federal charges involving a dog-fighting operation broken up in 2018 in Dodge County.
The indictments in the Southern District of Georgia were secured in a federal grand jury session by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica Rock, the district’s dedicated animal cruelty prosecutor, said Bobby L. Christine, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia. The 67-count indictment targets the owner of a site used for dog fighting and individuals alleged to have participated in fights at the facility.
“Contests of animal cruelty not only are illegal, but also are cesspools of associated criminal activity including gambling, drug trafficking and illegal firearms possession,” said U.S. Attorney Christine. “We won’t tolerate it, and with our prosecutors and law enforcement partners, we are determined to eradicate this barbaric practice.”
The lead defendant in the case, James Lampkin, a/k/a “Pookie,” age 45, of Eastman, is charged with Conspiracy to Violate the Animal Welfare Act; and 63 counts of Possessing and Training a Dog for Purposes of an Animal Fighting Venture, related to the 63 dogs seized on his property where the dog fights were alleged to have taken place. The charges all are felonies, each carrying a possible penalty upon conviction of up to five years in prison. Lampkin also is charged with Attending an Animal Fighting Venture, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in prison.
Also charged are:
Benjamin Shinhoster III, age 40, of Augusta, charged with Conspiracy to Violate the Animal Welfare Act; Transporting and Delivering a Dog for Purposes of an Animal Fighting Venture; Sponsoring and Exhibiting a Dog in an Animal Fighting Venture; and Attending an Animal Fighting Venture.
Deveon Hood, age 33, of Tennille, charged with Conspiracy to Violate the Animal Welfare Act; and Attending an Animal Fighting Venture.

Random thoughts
R.I.P. Walter E. Williams and Bruce Herschensohn, two great conservative-libertarian writers and thinkers.
We see hypocritical Democrat politicians telling us to stay home while they travel to nice warm resorts. You never see Republicans doing this; it’s all Demo leftist control freaks. “What’s bad for the public is good for the elites”, says Republican Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick.
“The Electoral College is a direct affront to socialist and Communist thinking and liberals will wipe it out if they get control.”
Rush Limbaugh
“If we wall up people inside their houses we just make them sicker.”
Mark Steyn SteynOnline.com
The Communist Party USA has endorsed Jon Ossoff for the U.S. Senate runoff.
Bumper sticker of the day: Insured By Smith & Wesson.
“Ignorant people don’t understand The Federalist Papers but they understand government checks with their names on them.”
Joseph Sobran Sobran.com
Democrats don’t know how to grow the economy but they know how to ratchet up phony investigations of political opponents.
“The confirmation process has become a national disgrace.”
Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh,
who speaks from experience
I’d like to see all Democrat candidates for office asked the question: Do you believe Prof. Christine Ford’s charges against Judge Kavanaugh? Jimmy Carter said a few months back at Emory University that he believed her. That tells us something about Jimmy.
Which ex-president was worse, Obama or Carter?
I listen to WFLAOrlando.com (6-9 a.m. – great program) on the Internet and the commercials are local for Atlanta. I hear Obama endorse Ossoff for the Senate ten or fifteen times in an hour or two. I always turn the sound off for thirty seconds when it comes on.
